When Telluride Goes Big...Pizza Edition

It was a simple Sunday morning, woke up, caught up on some work and was watching 9News Denver, for not much reason other than I was hoping the weather forecast would change to bring us our much needed snow.

But to my surprise there was a Super Bowl Feature on the Blue Plan Pizza dynasty in Denver and Golden and now even Empower Field, home of the Denver Broncos.

What wasn't mentioned was where did Jeff Smokevitch get started on his Pizza making career?  Telluride Colorado of course.   First as a take out spot Pac Street Pizza over 20 years ago adn then onto the Brown Dog Sports Bar.  Its there where Jeff really introduced Detroit stryle pizza to a lot of people, inckuding my favorite, the 313.

Still goign strong and led by one of Jeff's original partners, Dan Lynch, Telluride's Beroiwn Dog is still crushing it.  In fact, I had a slice of the 313 last night.

So, don't ever be surprised when ideas and businesses start in Telluride and go world wide.  There are others too, Telluride Truffles, Freshies Mix, Telluride Brewing Company, The Durango Blues Train, Wagner Skis, Ride Snowboards, ..... What's next??
