Two Great Telluride Restaurants, 221 South Oak and Floradora

Two great Telluride restaurants, 221 South Oak and the Floradora Saloon. I had the pleasure of dining at both recently.
First 221 South Oak. Owner/Chef Eliza Gavin really has it rolling. The Top Chef contestant is truly creating one of kind dishes. My recent visit featured a burrata with chili oil bringing with it a delayed sense of heat. The scallops were amazing, cooked perfectly and set on top of a beet and peanut sauce. The quaint setting on South Oak Street gives one the feeling they are dining in someone else's living room. Elody made sure everyone felt at home at the bar.

As for the Floradora Saloon, I had what I think offers one the best Telluride regional combinations of affordability and taste. The diablo bowl, a curry coconut pho, is plenty for 2 people, especially if like me you add the $4 fish taco. Owner/Chef Roscoe Kane was there to greet us and talk hockey. Its always a treat to sit in the window and watch the world, well the Main Street of Telluride world, go by.

The Telluride restaurant scene is going off. Stay tuned and I will update you on a few more local offerings to keep in mind on your Telluride Ski Vacation. There are so many choices and so little time left in ski season!
