The Telluride 50th Anniversary for Skiing
The Telluride Ski Resort opened on Saturday, marking its 50th Anniversary of operating as a world class ski resort in the Rocky Mountains.
I always love opening day and on my 28th ski season in town, I did not miss it. Yes, only one run was open, but it's just so much fun to get back on my snowboard and make some turns on a sunny warm day. After a handful of runs, and I also made sure to see Rowena at the Saloon at Gorrono.
Smiles were everywhere and let's hope this is a good start to a great season of powder, Alpino Vino lunches, Gorrono Beach cocktails, long Kantmakm runs and some deep snow on Elektra.
But for now? No matter the open terrain and weather? Get your butt out on the hill and start having some fun. We turn 50 only once and think about how awesome it is in Telluride. We get to ski basically right into our front doors and get on the lifts in a matter of minutes. No traffic, No parking lots. No nonsense.
I'm Thankful for that on Thanksgivng weekend!
Pray for Snow!
