The Durango Blues Train, A Great Overnighter

The Durango Blues Train was a great overnight trip from Telluride this past weekend. Sometimes I forget to leave the Box Canyon of Telluride and check out the surrounding region!

First of all Durango is a pretty cool town. Its less than a two hour drive from Telluride and makes a nice overnight destination. You can ride the Steam engine to Silverton, dine in some really good restaurants, (I chose the food truck emporium of the 11th Street Station and Bread ) play golf, do some mountain biking, float the Animas, check out Ft Lewis College, ski Purgatory and a host of other things

For this trip I rode the Durango Blues Train. Produced by the fine folks at SBG Productions, that also bring you Telluride Blues and Brews and Telluride Jazz, this train rides north of Durango for about 90 minutes before turning back to downtown Durango. There are different artists playing on each train car and delicious Ska Mexican Lagers to enjoy. Its just so unique and cool!
