The 30th Blues and Brews was Fantastic
Well, the last BIG Festival of the Telluride summer season is over. But make no mistake, the Telluride Blues and Brews Festival did not disappoint.
The weather cooperated and so did the attendees.
This three-day music and beer event certainly brings out the best in Telluride and the best in the musicians.
My highlights? Well, I'm always going to enjoy talent that travels up to Telluride from New Orleans, so I loved Tab Benoit's set. But Gary Clark Jr added the soul I needed, as well. The surprises? Hiss Golden Messenger and Neal Frances both made their first Telluride appearances. Go listen to them.
But there were many others that were great too. Add in a few beers? A chicken coop sandwich, a little VIP Treatment, and I'll challenge this festival as a best in the country for a festival of under 10,000 capacity.
Mark your calendars for next year. #31. Its always the 3rd weekend in September.
