Telluride's Newest Restaurant-Kazahana
Telluride's newest restaurant is Kazahana. Located at 126 East Colorado Avenue, the restaurant features authentic and unique Japanese cuisine. And when I mean authentic? Its real deal. Led by the dynamic duo of Josh and M'Lissa Klein, the new hot spot just opened, and I recently had dinner there.
You may know Josh and M'Lissa around town as they already own Sidework, Smuggler Brewpub and LaMarmotte. And those three spots are great restaurants. (Side note- Its 2 for 1 entrees all off-season at Sidework and LaMarmotte and I recently ate at Sidework and thought the Chicken Kiev dish was outstanding.)
The space is incredible, and the remodel took almost two years to complete and is as elegant as any restaurant that I have been to in a while. And the food? Incredible. My palate has to adjust to eating such dynamic and unique culinary treats. But I will say that Toro is my new favorite sushi.
And be nice to the servers. The chefs are from Japan and creating many dishes that have not been seen before in Telluride, let alone most sushi places. So you will end up asking a lot of questions. And the staff is learning the menu as well.
