Telluride is a Hockey Town

Telluride is a Hockey Town header image.

Telluride, Colorado is a Hockey Town.  Or put another way, Telluride is a ski town with a hockey problem. And the LizardHead Youth Hockey Club and Telluride-Durango High School are at the top of the state.

Pee Wee A? STATE CHAMPS!  

Colorado High School? 4A STATE CHAMPS

And as Mayor?  I got to help organize, ride and speak at  celebration parade.  Teh Pee Wee A Team beat Vail 5-4 in Double Overtime.  The Combined Telluride/Durango Team?  They ran the table in the Class 4A State Tournament, beating #1 Glenwood Springs in the semi final, and Summit (Breckenridge) 3-2 in the Final.

Woo Hoo.

So raise a glass and Celebrate these 2 teams.  And might as well celebrate the Adult Co Ed Leage Champs, Counter Culture, who won their 12 team local tournament too.

And to think, back in the day, I was President of the Telluride LizardHead Hockey Club and a long time board member.
