A Telluride Cattle Drive?

Written by Teddy Errico

A Telluride Cattle Drive? header image.

On my way to Ouray, Colorado yesterday I had to slow down for a Telluride Cattle Drive.  Yes.  Cattle.  Its reason 3,012 on why I love living in Telluride, Colorado.

I'm from Tarrytown, New York and this is something you just don't see back there.  The cattle were being herded at the top of Dallas Divide.  There were hundreds of them.  In all colors and sizes.

Its nice to see that some aspects of the Old West of Colorado are still being done to this day.  On other days you may run into sheep grazing too, but that is more common on the smaller San Miguel County dirt roads on the mesa tops.

I wonder what I'll see next?
