As a family friendly resort town, there are many great activities for children to participate in during the summertime. Camps and summer activities encompass all of the things that make Telluride so incredible: the outdoors, arts, sports and adventure.

Telluride also offers a rich history, great facilities such as public pool, skate parks, library and several playgrounds. Both you and your family will have an experience of a lifetime in Telluride and many of our visitors have been returning through the generations.

 

ARTS

The Ah-Haa School offers a variety of classes for all ages. After school classes include story theater, creative painting and innovative sculpture. Short-term classes in December revolve around making holiday gifts. Other short-term classes are also offered. Call the Ah-Haa School for a schedule.

The academy offers classes in the art of playing music in a band. Instruction on guitar, bass, drums, piano and vocals, as well as a full-service audio and video recording facility.

The Sheridan Arts Foundation offers performance workshops for kids ages 6-18. Acting, dancing, song writing and comedy are just a few of the creative and fun classes taught. Call to obtain a schedule or enroll.

 

SKATEBOARDING

Skateboarders and rollerbladers can ride until content on covered ramps in Town Park that include one big half-pipe and two smaller mini pipes. Telluride Youth Link on Pacific Avenue has a smaller skate park.

The Telluride Youth Link offers recreational and educational activities for youth ages 11-17. On the premises is free access to computers, a skateboard ramp, TV, VCR/DVD and stereo. The snack bar provides nourishment, and the recreational programs offered include regional trips, river rafting, skate and service learning projects.

Thrill Hill in Mountain Village offers tubing from 1 to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Tubing is offered seven days a week during peak holidays. Tubes provided.
