Opening Day

Not only was yesterday a day to be thankful, it was also opening day for the Telluride Ski Resort. Snowmaking guns were in full effect and Misty Maiden, Meadows, Village Bypass and See Forever (from the top of lift 6) were open. The weather was beautiful and it was nice to get back out there. Today’s weather was equally nice, 50 degrees and sunny, but Telluride Real Estate activity has picked up so I found myself at work……There’s always tomorrow.

Telluride's President of Realtors goes to NAR

Well as President of the Telluride Association of Realtors I found myself at the National Realtor Convention, in San Diego. Most importantly I represented our fine community and 197 Realtors. However, I was able to do many other things, like support our incoming National President Vicki Cox-Golder at her inception banquet, vote on changes to the National Realtor Code of Ethics, improve my Search Engine Optimization know-how and network with many other professional Realtors in fine communities like Aspen, Vail, Reno NV and Big Bear, CA and New York.

I also was invited to participate in a new committee for the Western Mountain Resort Alliance, which would network many fine resorts together, such as Lake Tahoe, Crested Butte (among many others) with Telluride to share sales data, trends, and much more. What was the most important aspect of this conference? Just that I still have many things to learn, so I can better work with selling and buying prospects of Telluride, Colorado.

More Snow in Telluride

Over two feet of snow fell in Telluride this past weekend, giving the Ski Mountain a base of about 32 inches. Great early season news, and more is on the way. We open November 26!

The Peaks Hotel in Telluride Mountain Village is SOLD!

Great news. The Peaks Hotel and Spa located in Telluride Mountain Village was purchased by a group of Telluride locals on November 4, 2009.

The Hotel will be managed by Grand Heritage Hotels and Resorts and the goal will be to restore the resort and to return it to its past glory as a presitious and high level property.

Rumor has it that indiviual rooms will be remodeled and sold off, creating real estate opportunites that will complement the nearby Capella Hotel at a different price point. Bookmark www.TeddyErrico.com to stay tuned.

Telluride: Best Kept Secret?

Is Telluride, Colorado’s best kept secret? Well that is what Denver Post writer Kyle Wagner writes.

We all have known about how special Telluride is. His article discusses Telluride as a charming place with gnarly skiing. All true. However Telluride is more than that. There are great green and blue runs with big views that are segregated from the black to keep it safer. Don’t forget about the weather- he doesn’t mention that either….abundant warm sunshine making it one of the warmest resorts in North America. He also forgot to mention that our commercial airport, just three miles to town opens this week. 5 star lodging, yep got that too- Capella. And for someone who wants to make this lifetyle theirs, for a week a year or a lifetime, there are some very good buys right now in Telluride Real Estate. Want an example? A lot recently contracted at under $200,000. This lot sold in 2004 for over $700,000. That my friends is a true bargain!

By the way, if you know Telluride is the best lifestyle resort in North America, SSSHHH. We want to keep it that way.
