National Association of Realtors Conference

Well, I just got back from sunny Orlando, Florida attending the annual National Realtors Conference. For the most part I was there attending Leadership Classes and forums that will strengthen my campaign as President Elect through my Presidency of the Telluride Local Association of Realtors Board of Directors from 2009-10. I also got a chance to enhance my education as a Realtor as well and did some good networking which will benefit all of my clients.

The best part was the positive attitude most Realtors have moving forward in this difficult economic time. That has made me even more postive, in addition to the great Telluride snowfall, for the upcoming winter. Real Estate Sales will still be off the mark, but I more determined than ever to find my clients the right property at the right price and if necessary sell a few of my listings too! Worse case scenario for my Buyers is to to visit Telluride, enjoy our lifestyle, and come back another time to buy. No pressure. That’s Telluride….laid back, fun, great scenery, adventurous, luxurious, there’s just too many adjectives to describe this perfect resort!

Even More Snow

The latest snowstorm brought an incredible THREE FEET of snow to the new Revelation Bowl area, as reported by The Telluride Ski Resort. An amazing base layer for us to start with! What great news and lets pray for even more snow!

SNOW!

It is snowing in Telluride, hooray! Some weather forecasters are predicting a total accumulation upwards of Two Feet by Thursday afternoon. This snow will create an excellent base as we march towards the opening of the Telluride Ski Area on November 27th. Good early season snow means an earlier opening of the NEW Revelation Bowl Lift.

Habitat for Humanity

Last week I had the pleasure of assisting in the building of a home in Norwood, Colorado (40 minutes west of Telluride) for Habitat for Humanity. Currently three homes are being built in a variety of stages just a block off of Main Street in Norwood. The need for affordable housing in this region is very high and it is my understanding that these home usually go to people who serve the community in a high fashion and also are in need, like a single parent with kids.

I can hear the laughter, thinking what could I or other Telluride Realtors actually do to help build a house? Our volunteer job of the day was to create a boundary and ventilation system to mitigate radon in the crawl space. We laid out piping, covered the floor with Visquine, and sheetrocked the walls. Not a lot of fun, but a good days work to help our community.

Sometimes its just not about Telluride Real Estate sales or playing a round of golf, and I want to make sure that I contribute to make our community a better place.
