United Airlines, Continental Airlines and Telluride

United Airlines and Continental Airlines, two of the world s premier airlines, have agreed to a merger of equals to create the world s leading airline, featuring the world s most comprehensive network. This United and Continental merger announcement will create more options for getting into Telluride, Montrose and Cortez Airports, making it easier than ever to get to Telluride. Continental also has a significant number of Q400 (some call them Dash 8) planes that would be allowed to land in newly refurbished Telluride Airport runway. The airport is hoping to expand it’s terminal by late spring 2011 to comply with TAA regulations and hopefully this will be the last step before these 78 seat turboprops land’ just 4 miles to the historic town of Telluride, and equally close to Mountain Village.
