Powder Magazine wrote an article on how fantastic the expert skiing is as well as the backcountry in their October 2010 issue. Certainly a very flattering story highlighting Bear Creek, Gold Hill and Black Iron Bowl. Not so sure of the characterization of Mountain Village though, and in fact I disagree with most of it. In comparison to most resorts, we have only a few foreclosures up there (I am writing this 700 feet below in the historic town of Telluride)and I didn’t *get* the Burger King (no fast food chains are within 37 miles) quote and 19 bathroom quote(I am not sure if there are 5 homes in the region with that many bathrooms, let alone 1), but I digress…. The article highlights some of the true spirit of Telluride and the skiing and its a good read, but real estate is a major part of our economy and there are some excellent buys, and we have also great intermediate and beginner ski runs, too!
